International Marriage Brokers Regulation Act of 2005 kills foreign romance

A radical feminist lobbyist group, manipulated Congress, by "earmarking", (attaching a special interest provision within a larger generally acceptable law). This earmarked provision designed
to prevent American Men from seeking foreign romance, is called the International Marriage Brokers Regulation Act, (IMBRA). This law is based on the FALSE but politically convenient feminist belief that any American Man who seeks foreign romance must be a predator. He must be a criminal and abuser. This law then takes away the privacy rights of all American men by forcing them to jump through hoops before they can even say "Hi" to a foreign woman. Those that manage to get to the stage of betrothal and marriage face additional road blocks at USCIS before they can obtain permission to bring their foreign wifes or fiancees to America.

Honest Mom and Dad websites targeted, many have already closed down permanently

In addition to depriving American men of their rights to privacy and rights to associate with who ever they wish, IMBRA is targeted to destroy the primarily "Mom and Dad" websites where, husband and wife (usually the wife is originally from overseas) work long and hard to introduce lonely foreign women to lonely American men. IMBRA strikes these "Mom and Dads" the hardest, threatening to imprison them for 5 years for each foreign woman they help say "Hi" to American man.

The law singles out and punishes a small and widely disparate group of Americans. It attacks American Men who seek foreign romance, and small American "Mom and Dad" businesses that serve them. They are convenient and weak targets for the feminists to paint with a black brush.

If you use a non-Compliant service, your fiancee visa application will be denied.

A. If the rules of this unjust Law are not followed when you first contact a foreign lady, then if you are so lucky that romance develops and you make her your fiancee, immigration will REJECT your application to bring her to the USA.

This unfair law took effect on March 6, 2006. It requires that before a foreign woman's address can be sold to an American Citizen or resident, the following must occur.

A. The American man must complete a questionaire on his criminal and marital background.
B. Heart of Asia must obtain his record from the National Sex Offenders database.
C. Both questionaire and record must be translated to the womans native language.
D. The translated questionaire and record must be provided to the woman.
E. The woman must then certifiy that she agrees to permit communication.
F. Only then is the American man allowed to say "Hi".

What is Heart of Asia doing?

A. Fighting this unjust law. We are involved in court cases and lobbying groups. Unfortunately it will take years before a challange climbs its way to the Supreme court for this unconstituational, special interest law is defeated.

While awaiting IMBRA's anticipated downfall, Heart of Asia is FULLY compliant

B. Heart of Asia ONLINE. This new service provides automatic and unobtrusive IMBRA compliance. Clients see online profiles, find matches, and contact each other using private mail boxes and instant messaging. When a US member joins he completes the IMBRA questionaire one time only. It is automatically translated into 14 languages. Each time a US member and Foreign member wish to begin contact with each other, the Foreign member sees the questionaire in her primary language, and may consent in her primary language. If both members are online at the same time the entire process may take less than a minute, after which they can communicate with each other.

C. Traditional Heart of Asia "Classic". Our traditional service has always been designed along the lines of an old fashioned "penpal" club. Clients could purchase mailing addresses of the members whose profiles they saw. IMBRA does not affect Foreign clients, and they may still purchase mailing addresses. For US clients an IMBRA compliant service called Foreign Introductions has been designed. In this case a US clients translated background information is sent via Airmail to the Foreign member, and only after she mails back her consent, can her contact information be released to the US client. This is the only way to contact those Foreign members who have no internet access.

In practice, if a girl wants you, a foreign introduction only adds a few weeks delay of play, before you get her answer. Under the classic penpal address system, you send out your letters right away using the addresses we email you, and wait for the girl to reply to you directly in case she is interested. With a foreign introduction she is getting a similar first introduction letter about you, except we are the ones mailing it. The foreign introduction will add a delay of about two weeks for translation, nsopr.gov verification, and check clearance. If the gal replies favorably, we send you the good news right away. In practice a foreign introduction will only add about two weeks before you learn if a gal is interested. In both cases, Foreign Introduction, or classic Penpal Addresses, if the gal chooses not to reply, you are in the same situation.

What should you do?

A. Contact your Congress Person Make your displeasure with this unfair law known.

B. Sign the Petition requesting rescinding of this law.
